Sharp Electronics Corporation, a subsidiary of Osaka-based Sharp Corporation, is dedicated to creating products that benefit and bring balance to people’s lives. Sharp Home Electronics Company of America, the U.S. Consumer Products division of Sharp Electronics Corporation, is passionate about helping people live better. Sharp Air Purifier Products

Sharp Electronics is passionate about manufacturing air purifiers that help its customers not only breathe more accessible but also live healthier. Sharp offers eight air purifiers, all with a myriad of features, including True HEPA, Energy-Efficiency, Plasmacluster Ion, and Library Quiet.

All Sharp air purifiers come with True HEPA filters — which help those who have severe asthma, allergies, odors, mold, and more — as well as Sharp’s patented Plasmacluster Ion Technology. Although some may mistake this as the same technology found in an ionizer, it is far from it. Ionizers add a negative charge to harmful airborne particles, making them stick to walls, furniture, and floors. However, Sharp’s Plasmacluster ion technology effectively eliminates bacteria, germs, viruses, mold, and odors.

The Plasmacluster Ion Air Purifier is one of Sharp’s most popular units, combatting odors and harmful chemicals in the home. It features a three-stage filtration system that combines a True HEPA filter and Activated Carbon filter, which captures up to 99.97 percent of airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns.

Ultimately, no matter your needs, Sharp offers a myriad of air purifiers to meet your needs and budget.

Sharp Features and Services

The features that Sharp offers with air purifiers include improved performance, health, and innovation. All Sharp Electronic products allow you to benefit from Plasmacluster Ion technology.

Plasmacluster Ion Technology

Sharp’s patented Plasmacluster® ion technology does what traditional filters cannot: effectively eliminate bacteria, germs, viruses, mold, and odors.; achieved by replicating nature’s cleaning process of producing positive and negative ions from water vapor in the air, according to Sharp. As a result, these ions cleanse the air without harmful chemicals or perfumes.

Energy Efficiency

Although energy efficiency is essential to many people, most do not want to pay higher energy bills in exchange for cleaner air. Since the fan in a Sharp Electronics air purifier doesn’t have to work as hard as other units on the marketplace today, Sharp air purifiers are among the most energy-efficient worldwide because of the output they provide. For example, they usually use about the same amount of energy as a light bulb.

Odor Reduction

We’ve all been there before. There’s a distinct smell in our environment, yet we may not be able to identify it accurately to get rid of it effectively. An air purifier can solve that for you; however, an air purifier with Sharp’s patented Plasmacluster ion technology goes above and beyond. Plasmacluster ions can eliminate odors no matter where they are; this includes smells that seem stuck in carpets, upholstered furniture, or drapery such as pet odors, odors from cooking, cigarette smoke, and more.

Mold Reduction

You can find Mold and mold spores both indoors and outdoors. However, indoor mold can seriously impact the quality of your indoor air. As a result, if you or a loved one suffers from allergies, asthma, mold exposure can trigger allergic reactions and even lead to serious health concerns. Sharp’s Plasmacluster ions can reduce mold levels at home, making it a safer and healthier place for you and your family.

Static Electricity Reduction

People who choose Sharp air purifiers benefit from a reduction in static electricity. While some people mistake Sharp’s Plasmacluster Ion Technology as the same technology found in an ionizer, it is far from it. Ionizers add a negative charge to harmful airborne particles, making them stick to walls, furniture, and floors. However, Sharp’s Plasmacluster ion technology effectively eliminates bacteria, germs, viruses, mold, and odors.

Library Quiet

An air purifier that expertly cleans the air in your room but keeps you from sleeping or interrupts quality time with family isn’t doing its job well. Sharp air purifiers feature a Library Quiet operation that provides comfort without the additional noise associated with air purifiers. This makes the company’s purifiers among the quietest on the market and ideal for social occasions, reading at night, or working.

Sharp Customer Reviews:

I would recommend this for those who want to have cleaner air.

“This is my third air purifier/humidifier. The first time I bought a cheap brand for about $130, and the dust meter is all over the place. It just didn’t impress me all that much, so I had to return it. It wasn’t too quiet and had only the purifying function. I bought another one for the contemporary look of the house. That one was not cheap either and didn’t have a purifying function. I came across this Sharp one and decided to give it a shot. What attracted me was that it’s purifying and humidifying in one. When I got the unit, it’s on the larger side. The look is pretty clean and sleek, though. I use it for my bedroom, which is not too big so that the machine can cover the area without a problem. It’s relatively quiet, but occasionally you hear the water bubbling. The display light can be turned on or off to bother you at night time sleeping. I don’t have allergy problems, so I can’t tell how much air the unit purifies. I was hoping to live in a healthier environment, my house gets dusty very easily, and I don’t want to breathe in all the dust particles. The only concern I have is the filter. I haven’t figured out how often I need to change it or how much it costs. It doesn’t seem like a cheap filter to replace, hopefully, not too often. I would recommend this for those who want to have cleaner air.”

— Customer Review via Best Buy

I love how quiet this machine is and trust that it filters all the allergens in the air.

“We have dogs, and two of our family members have bad allergies. I love how quiet this machine is and trust that it filters all the allergens in the air. The filters look very sturdy and solid. Sharp is a well-established company in Japan. Their air purifiers have been around for a long time, and they are trendy. I’m glad they sell it in the U.S., too. I’m not sure if the plasma cluster works for viruses, but it’s nice to know it might. Now we have three FPF60UW—each in our bedrooms. When you change sheets and think a lot of dust is in the air, you can press the “QUICK CLEAN” button and leave the room. It also has the powerful POLLEN button. I need that for my allergy.”

— JB&MB via Amazon

I can buy a new air purifier every six months and spend about the same money as replacing filters for this Sharp unit.

“Before I purchased (and returned) this air purifier, I thought that, just like the manual says, I would only have to replace the filter once every two years. No, in most cases, you have to do it every six to eight months, sometimes more often. Secondly, there are two filters, both of which need to be replaced, each costing $70. In other words, I can buy a new air purifier every six months and spend about the same money as replacing filters for this Sharp unit. And I would consider it if it was incredible, or silent, or had features other purifiers don’t. The plasma cluster, by the way, does absolutely nothing. I analyzed particles per square mill/CM/in after using the purifier with and without plasma cluster for four hours, and the results were absolutely the same! Even the device itself, hidden within the device’s bowels, no way it can create enough static electricity to attract the dust with what it has built-in. After these findings, I concluded that Sharp is using a word they made up to sell purifiers to impressionable people; they get away with it because it’s difficult to prove that Plasmacluster is a lie. It’s much easier to prove that paying $70 or $90 for a filter is right. I’m getting something much cheaper and without any additional tricks that do nothing but raise the price.”
